Chapter 1 - 3 Extensions

4. What is this poem about?  Do you like it?  Concord Hymn

5. Sam's family seems to be very concerned with avoiding sin and treason, and sometimes Sam gets in trouble for being less than "perfect" in his family's eyes. What are some of the things that Sam does that his father might not approve of? Give one specific example. Do you think Sam is right in doing and thinking what he does, or should he be more loyal to his family's values? Why or why not?

    I think that this poem is about what you would hear, think, or see because saying stuff like "And fired the shot heard round the world." i feel that that's something that you would hear. Also saying "On this green bank, by this soft stream." is something that you would most likely see from the eye. Something for thinking "Spirit, that made those heroes dare to die, and leave their children free." yes it would be good for them to leave there children free but not to dare to die. I do like this poem because it put a picture in my mind about what you would see at a time like this and what you would hear or think. But yes I do like this poem.

    1. I like this poem too. Like Izzy said, I can imagine what the poem is saying in my head, "On this green bank, by this soft stream.". I can picture that in my mind. I picture some green grass by a small stream.
